Demerit
point offences during School Zones!
School Speed
Zones operate on school days, and this includes school development days (this
is because teachers still go to school on those days as well).
Did you
know that some driving (including some parking offences) can attract additional
demerit points if they are committed during school zone times?
Repeatedly
exceeding your demerit point limit?
If a
driver exceeds their demerit point limit twice within 5 years, they will NOT be
able to drive again until they:
- Pass the Driver Knowledge Test;
AND
- Complete a driver education
course (for example the Traffic Offender Intervention Program) which is
hosted by a Transport-approved provider (and it should also be noted that you
must pay for this course). For more information, please visit: https://www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/demerits-penalties-and-offences/how-demerit-points-work#:~:text=for%20safe%20drivers.-,Double%20demerit%20periods,mobile%20phone%20offences.
