So, what is a ‘’U- Class Licence’’?

In South Australia, if a person drives an ultra-high-powered vehicle (UHPV) then he or she must hold a U Class Licence.

Can you give me some examples of Cars which are Classified as a ultra-high-powered vehicle (UHPV)?

There are many cars which fall under this Category but to name a few which many people would be familiar with, this includes cars like Lamborghini Hurracans, Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Ferrari, McLarens, and many, many more! How to become Eligible?

In South Australia, to be eligible for the U- Class Licence, you must first hold an unrestricted/unconditional licence or probationary Car (c) class licence or higher. If a person only holds a motorbike licence, then they cannot apply for the U Class Licence.

UHPV drivers who are visiting the state of South Australia can travel on their interstate C (Car) Class licence.

To successfully apply for a U- Class Licence, the eligible person must firstly pass an online U Class Licence Course. Online Course: U Class Licence Course.

Course takes approx. 30-45 minutes to complete. Once the course is completed, the applicant will then be able to unlock the knowledge test which is an assessment component forming part of the course. Once the applicant successfully completes the Course, the applicant will have to apply for a replacement licence which will add a ‘’U Class’’ to the person’s driver licence.
